Resumo: |
The study deals with the social organization of rural settlements, within the framework of agrarian reform, making a relation with Field Education, as a new way of thinking about peasant education. The objective was to study the social organization of the Maceió settlement, related to the Education of the Field as an education project of the MST. The research was of the qualitative type, using the case study as strategy. The instruments of data collection were observation, semi-structured interviews and focus group. The research unit was the Maceió settlement, located in the municipality of Itapipoca, state of Ceará. The subjects of the research were educators, settlers and students, who are directly involved with the research theme. The theoretical basis of the work was based on authors of the field of progressive education and field education as well as on the agrarian question in Brazil (Freire, 2005, Caldart, 2008, 2012, Fernandes, 2008, Stédile, MST, 2005, 2012, Matos, 2003, among others). The results showed that the settlement Maceió, has its own organization, built mainly by the struggle of the families. An organization that presents a series of potentialities and challenges, or contradictions, resulting, among other things, from the more general form of social organization on which the settlement forms a part. The Field Education, comes later, as proposed by the MST, but already has a history built mainly by the quality of its work developed by the Nazaré Flor school. With emphasis on the formation of youth, bringing greater concern for life in the countryside, providing greater political engagement, which also reflects on families. When thinking about the relationship of this Field Education with the organization of the settlement, it was possible to verify that the organization thought for this education is not determinant in the way of being and thinking of the families of Maceió. Field education experiences in the settlement are recent in relation to settlement history and face challenges as to their implementation. Although already presenting achievements, it is still under construction requiring a greater dialogue as to its involvement in the organization of the settlement. |
