Resumo: |
With the gradual change of the educational paradigm, from the traditional model, to the increasing use of active methods, several teaching strategies have been used and tested. The use of educational games deserves attention, as they promise the most varied benefits, which go through the increased engagement that games usually provoke in participants. In this work, we sought to develop and apply a board game, whose theme was focused on the initial period of embryonic development. This study is characterized as an experimental research of analytical quantitative modality. The game, once developed, was applied with medical students from the first to the eighth phase of the course (n= 245), from a higher education institution in the city of Rio do Sul - SC. The results are presented divided into three chapters, each consisting of an article, the first being a systematic review of the literature about the methodologies used in embryology, and the others, seeking to compare the performance of students through a questionnaire (pre and post-intervention (n= 245), in addition to evaluating the effectiveness of the educational game through a validated questionnaire (n= 215). For statistical analysis of pre and post- intervention data, D'Agostino normality tests were used & Pearson and Shapiro-Wilk, subsequently, the statistical test of Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis was chosen for non-parametric data and Student's T and ANOVA with Dunn's post-test, for parametric data, using the software GraphPad Prism. The data referring to the analysis of the game as an educational resource were treated through exploratory factor analysis, using the IBM SPSS® Statistics 22.0 software. Our results point positively to the use of games in the educational context, suggesting better results in the post-intervention. In addition, it is possible to measure the effect of the game through the use of an appropriate scale, and determine its influence on parameters such as attention, relevance, confidence, satisfaction, immersion, challenge, skill, social interaction, fun and knowledge that were variables analyzed in our study. |
