Resumo: |
The expansion of urban areas may lead to a center-periphery sprawl, a phenomenon common to most brazilian metropolises. In this context, the high income population has been attracted by new forms of urban habitats culminating in a process of socio-spatial self-segregation in the city's territory. This pattern leads to negative consequences for the city, with the unlimited expansion of the urban spot compromising the levels of accessibility to work activities, study, among others that the population wishes to perform. This master's research aims to understand the phenomenon of urban sprawl by self-segregation and its impact on the urban accessibility of Fortaleza. For this, adopting an interdisciplinary approach that considers the interaction of the subsystems of land use and transport, it is proposed the representation, characterization and diagnosis of this problem, from the definition of indicators capable of representing the problems and their causal relations . For these analyzes, operational modeling and spatial statistics tools were used, contributing to the understanding of this complex problem. It is hoped to advance in the discussions about the urban accessibility planning from the phenomenological and methodological application, contributing in the systematization of the integrated urban planning process. |
