This paper is about the proposition of a set of performance indicators for the State of Mato Grosso University Carlos Alberto Reyes Maldonado - Unemat. Performance indicators are methodological instruments used to evaluate the actions of organizations, with the aim of measuring the organizational performance in reaching its objectives established in the strategic planning process, or in relation to external reference values, such as, the level of quality established by regulatory agencies. Said that, the general objective of this paper is to propose a system of performance indicators that allows Unemat to measure its performance. The theoretical approach deals with strategic planning, evaluation, and finally, performance indicators. As far as methodology is concerned, this study is characterized as an applied research of exploratory nature. Based on Unemat's published planning instruments, we sought to identify which processes and products important for the achievement of the formalized objectives need monitoring, and then propose performance indicators. Twenty-two indicators were proposed for graduation, 21 for graduate studies, 6 for extension, and 11 for people management. The validation of the set of indicators was carried out based on the perception of experts of each dimension addressed, based on criteria required for the construction of indicators present in the literature on the subject. The proposed indicators were used empirically based on available institutional information from the period between 2015 and 2019, making it possible to observe the evolution of each measured object. When it comes to academic contributions, the work resulted in a theoretical increase in the process of construction of indicators, since in the bibliographic research carried out, the theme revealed to be a gap. The importance of institutional information, the use of the essential properties of the indicators, and the participation of stakeholders in the validation process of the set was also noted. |
