Resumo: |
The demand for healthy food grows at a rapid pace worldwide. The pisciculture is a natural activity to produce noble food of high nutritional value and low cost. This research focuses on the diagnosis of the productive chain of the tilapia pisciculture in the valley of Curu in the state of Ceara. The objective is to identify threats, weaknesses and the interdependence inside the production chain that hamper the development of the tilapia culture. The method used was based on bibliografy and documents research, characterized also as being a mixture of exploratory, descriptive and field applied research. Results were obtained through interviews with farmers, producers of fingerlings, feed producers, researchers, and government agencies. It is possible to conclude that the research led to the resolution of the issue-problem with the proposed actions for the improvement of public policies for fish farming, aimed at social inclusion, income distribution and production with environmental sustainability. |
