This study aimed to carry out an institutional assessment at the Darcy Ribeiro College of Technology, a private institution. More specifically, it aimed to assess the quality of education at that institution in the light of dimensions 2 and 3 of the National System of Higher Education Assessment (SINAES), ie, scientific and educational perspectives: policies, standards and incentives for teaching, research, extension and social responsibility of the Institution. In this sense a search was conducted through questionnaires, involving a representative sample of veteran students, as they are able to express their views with greater certainty about the academic reality, teachers, course coordinators and direction of the Institution. The latter was also the object of an interview about its general aspects. Before the questionnaires a pre-test was conducted with success, as no new difficulties regarding its understanding and fulfillment occurred. The survey results indicated that the quality of teaching was considered good and that the social responsibility actions occasioned were perceived as incipient. In the end, seeking to contribute to the education quality improvement at Darcy Ribeiro College of Technology, several recommendations were made towards areas considered weak or undeveloped.
