Brazil stands out in the production of packaging as in their disposal. According to the Ministry of Environment (2009) 25 thousand tons of packaging will end in rubbish dumps everyday. This fact became considering point from part of the society. Understand consumer’s attitude related to ecological characteristics in packaging becomes important according to this phenomenon. Thus, the present study aimed to describe the components of consumer’s attitude in relation to ecological characteristics in packaging. In order to achieve the objective of this study; revisions were made in the literature about packaging and consumer’s attitude facing the ecological characteristics in packaging.The field research was exploratory with a quantitative approach. The sample was composed of 325 people of both sexes and from various neighborhoods of Fortaleza. The obtained results show that interviewees know little about the labeling symbols and give them little influence on their purchase. Regarding the affective aspects, it is observed that the consumers attach great importance to the same symbols and positively evaluated different attitudes related to the use / purchase of packages that present ecological characteristics. Finally, it is concluded that the consumers interviewed still don’t transform into purchase the positive evaluations that they make about the packages that have ecological characteristics. |
