The present study's theme is the cultural and literary mediations developed in community libraries, since the development of these activities in these spaces promotes appreciation, knowledge, and the cultural strengthening of communities. Based on this, the study's general objective is to analyze the main dimensions: dialogical, aesthetic, formative, ethical and political achieved by the community libraries of Rede Jangada Literária, in their cultural and literary mediation activities. Given what has been said, the following specific objectives are presented: to analyze the cultural and reading mediation actions that take place in community libraries; to investigate the social impact of reading and cultural mediation in communities; to identify the frequency with which these activities are carried out in community libraries; and to verify the importance of the librarian/mediator's work in these activities. The bibliographical research explored the themes of community library; literary mediation and cultural mediation, as theoretical foundation. The study was qualitative in nature, exploratory in nature, through an empirical study carried out at Rede Jangada Literária. The data collection instruments used were a semi-structured interview with the mediator/librarian of each of the libraries that are part of the Rede and a questionnaire with library readers. Based on these guidelines, we concluded that the mediating action in library spaces has an impact on the social, cultural and educational contexts of the individual and collective lives of the people who go to these spaces, as well as reaching in their different specificities, such as the dialogic, aesthetic, formative dimensions, ethics and politics. |
