Resumo: |
The aim of the study was to describe the knowledge, attitude and practice of nurses and users of the Family Health Strategy on the early detection of Breast Cancer. The study was descriptive, cross-sectional survey using the Knowledge, Attitude and Practice, held at Crato in the period from November to January 2015. The sample consisted of seven nurses of Health Crato Family Strategy and 349 women followed the strategies of the urban area of Crato city. As regards the research study showed a lack of knowledge, attitude and practice of professionals who are working in the entrance door of the single health system. Most still do not know what is currently recommended in Brazil to detect early Breast Cancer, and some do not even feel safe to apply some screening methods for the conditions. The unpreparedness of the nurses reflected directly in patients, because even women having sought information through various means about breast cancer, they are still unprepared to prevent and knowledge, attitude and practice is hampered by lack of qualified assistance. In this study, with regard to education, it was not directly related to knowledge, since higher level of education had a significant number of women with regular and inadequate responses. Regarding attitude, one can observe the direct relationship between education and the location with adequate, inadequate or regular attitudes. Therefore, it is evident the need to be put into practice health policies directed to breast cancer in the female population, specifically the problem of early detection, among which highlight actions centered on educational measures where the nurse can act making breast cancer is no longer the main among women and that her mortality rate can decrease in a considered way. |
