Resumo: Due to market aspirations for technology performance, economic, cultural, environmental, political and social optimizations, some organizations are applying different management techniques for a continuous improvement. In order to integrate these techniques, the concept of Integrated Management System emerged. That is not just the concomitant application of various management systems, but a harmonic execution among those for the purpose of compose it. In this study we seek to investigate the management systems based on ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001, through analyzing their advantages and disadvantages and through exploring methods to integrate them. An indicator was elaborated to the end of a numerical representation of the degree of integration of the SGI formed by systems based on these standards. This indicator was validated by applying it in a construction company and by comparing the qualitative results from the scientific observation during 18 months and the quantitative results generated by the indicator. Finally, the construction company presented a result of integration of 64%, which was verified by the convergent qualitative analysis. It also generated indexes for the work sector, 62%, and for the office sector, 92%, indicating a significant difference in the perception of employees about SGI processes according to your industry. The indicator provided indexes for the SGI's requirements. The indicator, its role in the management system and the opportunities for improvement that can be pointed to by it now are concluded.
