Resumo: |
With the recent integration of the State of Ceará with Europe, through the Air Hub in Fortaleza, operated by Air France, KLM and Gol, an opportunity was opened for expanding international business, expanding markets and exports from Ceará. Considering this aerial connectivity, Ceará has a great potential to increase exports by air modal. In this context, in the face of optimistic development prospects, the objective of this work is to analyze the potential impacts on the economy of Ceará from this greater connectivity and its effects on the State's exports. To do so, the study uses the Product Input Matrix, a classic tool to carry out economic impact studies, in addition to specific foreign trade information that allows identifying, among other points, the potential in foreign sales to be explored by the State. The results show that the impact on the economy of Ceará, specifically regarding exports by air are not significant in the short and medium term. The evidence suggests that, in the short and medium term, connectivity is expected to affect the economy more intensively through other channels, such as increased tourist flows, business movement, and the enhancement of the supply chain of specialized goods and services in the aviation sector . |
