The evaluation of the public policy of social distancing of the government of Ceará, implemented from 2020 onwards as a measure to combat the spread of the Sars-CoV-2 virus, which causes Covid-19, is inserted in the post-constructivist paradigm, focused on experience and subjectivity, and it is opposed to the hegemonic evaluation of public policies, known as positivist. This evaluation includes: the context of creation of the public policy, legal frameworks, the institutional trajectory and an evaluation of the experience of the policy in the community of Cajueiro, Maranguape (CE), from the perspective of the post-constructivist sentiment. Among the results: the concept of State within capitalism proved incapable of providing the basic means of protecting people's lives and health, leading the entire country to abysmal circumstances of widespread the disease and the death.
