Fatores determinantes da inadimplência do crédito rural PRONAF em áreas de assentamento de reforma agrária no NE do Estado do Pará

The objective of this work is to identify the factors that determine the insolvency of agricultural credit “PRONAF” in areas of populating process of agrarian reform in the northeast region of the state of Pará. It has been made a revision of literature on agrarian reform and its recent division and historical of the agricultural credit in Brazil. 137 questionnaires had been applied, in 17 projects of populating in the region, referring to 10 cities, in which they had been commented about educational, social aspects, work relations and relations of credit of the interviewed familiar agriculturists. The model of logistic regression is used as instrument of method. It is observed in the results, that the aspects related to the kind of education, monthly income, ways of commercialization of the production, previous experiences with plantation and cattle, the area size and no use of machines and equipments in the property, determine the situation of insolvency of the interviewed agriculturists. The reason that more contribute for the insolvency are related to the kind of education, monthly income and ways of commercialization of the production. Finally, based on the data analysis, the work presents a set of proposals to reduce the insolvency observed in the region of study with intention to contribute for the efficiency of the public politics in the projects of the populating process that have been searched.
