Resumo: |
This paper proposes to carry out a comparison between the profile of rural microcredit financing under the Agroamigo Program of Banco do Nordeste, in the state of Ceará, between the period in which economic activity was reduced due to the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus and the same period of the year 2019. The focus, therefore, will be to investigate whether there were changes in the profile of Agroamigo's financing during the COVID-19 Pandemic. More specifically, it is intended to investigate whether, during the pandemic period, the program's credit openings were reduced (or increased) in quantity, in average value, and if they achieved a different customer profile compared to what had been occurring a year earlier. The methodology used in the study was based on descriptive analyzes through temporal evolution graphs and tables, and on average tests between periods to investigate the hypothesis of a change in the profile of some variables in the database in the program, which was specifically raised for this job. It was found that there were changes in the profile of financing but not of customers, with a greater number of credits with a lower average value distributed to customers with a profile similar to that observed in the previous year. In this way, the Program sought to be an additional reinforcement for those most in need, in this even more difficult situation. |
