This study aimed to analyze the contribution of Reiki as a proposal of nursing care for people with anxiety in the Family Health Strategy, which was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Ceará in Opinion No. 1233393. It was held at a Desk Health in Fortaleza, Ceará, during the work activities of the author, who is Reiki master. The methodology used was quantitative, descriptive and intervention, had 56 patients who received treatment with Reiki. The data collection protocol contained sociodemographic characteristics, feelings during application of Reiki and numerical information of a biofeedback device, connected by a sensor to the patient and the computer. participants' reports were obtained on their perception of anxiety, feelings during the intervention and descriptions of care with Reiki. Data were compiled in Microsoft Word 2007, Microsoft Excel 2007, IBM SPSS Statistics Base version 19, applied the t test, chi-square, Wilcoxon and Fisher. Most participants 82.6% were female, more than half 60.5% were Catholic and 79.1% were aged 20-60 years. They were 82.6% with anxiety of participants who described physical, emotional and mental symptomatology. Intervention with Reiki as nursing care, along with the teaching of breathing technique promoted: increased state of cardiac coherence, whose average increased nine (before) to 31 (after), or the heart rate entered into synchrony and resonance with the breathing rhythm, with self-regulation of SNA, with increased variability interval of heart rate variability (HRV), providing greater relaxation and therefore breathing less tense and physiological and lower average heart rate, which went from 77bpm (before) to 73bpm (after); there was satisfaction, well-being, relaxation and reducing stress levels; no influence on the functional health and neurocognitive states, stimulus spirituality, as well as improved self-control and social relationships, from which one can conclude that Reiki is a simple therapy, but complete for increased quality of life. The results demonstrate the importance of integrating Integrative and Complementary Practices in the Family Health Strategy in Brazil. |
