Resumo: |
In Brazil has registered that 90% of strawberry production is under the direction of small and medium producers and 10% comes from business ventures. Nevertheless, the small and medium producers are lacking in scientific and technological information aimed at significantly contributing to the development of family farming in the country and most of the strawberry production areas located in subtropical climate regions, which produces for consumption fresh and industrialization. Consequently, in the Brazilian Northeast strawberry crop reaches great market value, since production is still small to meet demand, which can produce good profits for family farming. However the climatic conditions of the region are not conducive to the strawberry cultivation in the open. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate alternative systems of environmental cooling; next to it, also evaluate the effect of fertilization with bovine biofertilizer in strawberry culture in Ceará. In this context, the experiment was conducted in two production cycles in the experimental area of the Department of Agricultural Engineering of the Federal University of Ceará, in the Campus of Pici, Fortaleza, Ceará. The treatments consisted of the combination of 03 cultivation environments: protected environment of the greenhouse type, with nebulization with ice water and on white floor, called A1; full sun, with nebulization with ice water and on white floor, A2; and full sun without fogging and on floor concreted unpainted, A3, which constituted the plots with five treatments in subplots, differentiated by the application of 05 doses of bovine biofertilizer (0, 500, 750, 1,000 and 1,250 ml plant- 1 week-1) with 5 replications. The experimental unit consisted of 3 vessels, with one plant each, totaling 225 plants. climatic characteristics of the site and growth, productivity and postharvest of strawberry were analyzed. Most of the growth variables, production and post-harvest of cultivated strawberry in greenhouse showed higher values than those obtained in the open, indicating the feasibility of reducing the temperature to greater efficiency in cultivation. The use of fogging was efficient, because the values of most of the analyzed variables were higher in A2 environment when compared with those obtained in A3. The use of bovine biofertilizer enabled the increase in stomatal conductance and transpiration in environments (A1 and A2). The increase in biofertilizer doses, the first and second cycles, associated with changes in the microclimate factors of greenhouse raised the average of most variables. Despite the low yields obtained in this study, compared with the occurring in the South and Southeast of Brazil, it was observed that it is possible to produce strawberry in Ceará and that the Biofertilization and cooling techniques allow increases in total production. However, need is economic evaluations to assess the feasibility or otherwise of strawberry cultivation in the region. |
