Resumo: |
Brazilian popular literature is known worldwide for presenting enormous diversity of writing and also countless influences from other cultures. Thus, in the Northeast region of Brazil, a very peculiar type of poetry was consolidated, full of elements and thoughts reminiscent of the European Medieval Era. Antônio Gonçalves da Silva, better known as Patativa do Assaré, is considered one of the greatest representatives of Brazilian popular literature, poet and troubadour. Despite being born in the interior of Ceará and having little attendance at school, his poetic production brings elements characteristic of other literary aesthetics, mainly related to the medieval era. Taking as a principle the teachings of Prof. Roberto Pontes, this work aims to identify the medieval literary and cultural residues in the poems of Patativa do Assaré, involving religious and moral aspects, from the form of thought to the characteristics of medieval Sirventês, both crystallized in their unique writing in northeastern Brazil. It was concluded that the patativana works full of medieval residues fixed through crystallization and are reflected in the areas of religious, political and cultural nature. |
