Resumo: |
The civil construction sector possesses great social and economic importance to the country, due to both its wealth and job creations. However, it has a complex management due to its intrinsic traits (geographic distribution, projected, differentiated productive line, a large productive network, etc.) or even due to chronical problems (inefficiency, sparsely innovative, wastefulness, lack of planning) both of which the sector have been trying to overcome during the last years. The ERP systems have been presented as a tool capable to cooperate with the sector’s organization, through the arrangement of information and its flux within the corporation, the elimination of data redundancy, the management of resources and production and relations improvement among the components of the productive network. The present work has, as its purpose, to identify how to improve ERP’s implementation process in the production role through the investigation of the managerial production process, the identification of the critical success factors, the analysis of introduction strategies and the mapping of ERP’s functionalities that are relevant to the sector. For this purpose an exploratory research with a qualitative approach was developed, having the multiple case study as a res earch strategy, as a method of data collecting, the interview, and as an instrument of analysis, the thematic codification. There were identified, as a result from the research, critical success factors characteristics to the civil construction sector, such as the EAP’ s structure, the correction of the material and arrangement record, the need for a new engineer profile, or also a remote communication adequate , and be able to work in an environment with limited telecommunication infrastructure. Due to the little familiarity of the sector with changes, the need for a consultancy service was also identified. This work also presents a list of functionalities, which must contain an ERP in order to attend the management production needs as well as its contribution with an introduction project where the main required cautions are pointed out. It has also been identified that the major ERP introduction restrictions in the production role can be found in the organizational politics, which identified the need for a culture of planning, a strategic director review and for a model of production management. |
