Resumo: |
The municipality of Icapuí is located in the border of Ceará with Rio Grande do Norte, it has 64 kilometers of border. It is one of the few coastal municipalities that we can still find tranquil fishing villages, but the occupation of its territory has not occurred properly and the environmental impacts caused by innumerable anthropic and natural processes have altered the geomorphology of the region. In this context, this study aims to perform an integrated geoenvironmental analysis of the municipality of Icapuí (CE), generating the mapping of environmental systems and investigating their environmental vulnerability. Thus, a multitemporal analysis (1984-2016) was carried out from the maps of land cover and use, besides the geoenvironmental and geomorphological units characterization of the municipality, generating, among others, maps of environmental systems and environmental vulnerability. It was observed that during the 32 years (1984 - 2016) there was an increase of approximately 10% of area with soil exposed in the municipality of Icapuí, where, the growing pressures on the natural resources and, mainly, on the vegetation . There was also a tendency to change the state of occupation of the territory, with a reduction of dense vegetation of the board in relation to the other vegetation classes found in the municipality. Knowledge and understanding of types and forms of relief, hypsometry, slope, active processes, vulnerability and potentialities of environmental systems, among others, are also fundamental factors for the understanding of past and present procedural relationships. The aim of this work is to evaluate the environmental systems in the above-mentioned river basin with the help of geoprocessing techniques, based on the systematization and the interrelationship between Nature and Nature in the perspective of the rational use of geoenvironments. Finally, this study represents an important instrument for the construction of environmental indicators and for the evaluation of the capacity of environmental support to the different managements used in the production, thus contributing to the identification of alternatives that promote sustainability and development. |
