Resumo: |
The present work is intended to analyze the impacts of the APAC methodology on the lives of women incarcerated in Association for the Protection and Assistance of Convicts (APAC) on the lives of women incarcerated in the APAC womanly of Viana-MA. Through triangulated ethnographic research - analysis of applied questionnaires, report captured in a self-recorded diary of one of the inmates and direct observations of the researcher during her visits and conversations at the Unit - we intend to initiate a necessary interlocution about the Brazilian prison system and the urgent need to implement effective public policies for resocialization, through the implementation of a prison system that is very different from the current model of hygienist segregation present in prisons in our country. Sixteen inmates of the chosen APAC were interviewed. In addition, one of these was asked to record in a journal. Data were analyzed descriptively and theoretically. We found that, in the case studied, the incarcerated women are mostly black, with little education and answer/were convicted of drug trafficking. For the significant majority of these women, APAC is a welcoming space, respect for basic human rights and incarceration offers an experience that provides opportunities for resocialization through education and professionalization. |
