Resumo: Over the years we have seen improvement in the assistance to Women's Health, however some indicators related to prenatal care still remain unsatisfactory. This situation led us to establish the objective of analyzing the characteristics of the Units of Primary Health Care (UAPS) and the indicators of performance and monitoring of the Women's Health area, produced by the Family Health Strategy (ESF) teams in the city of Fortaleza . This is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach. Data collection took place in May 2016, through the Basic Attention Information System (SIAB), based on information from 2014 and the first five months of 2015, from the ESF teams, with or without a team Of Oral Health in its composition, belonging to the 93 UAPS. The sample was composed of 184 FHS teams, randomly selected to represent the micro-areas covered by Health Agent. We used indicators from the validated instrument of the National Program for Improving Access and Quality of Basic Care (PMAQ-AB) to profile Of the target units of analysis. Data were submitted to the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Mann-Whitney and / or Kruskall / Wallis tests and analyzed using the chi-square or Fisher's exact test. The analyzes were performed in SPSS 17.0 for Windows. In the results, in relation to the characteristics of the UAPS, it was identified that 60.2% were reformed and 79.5% had electronic medical records implanted. Among the ESF teams studied, 30.4% participated in the second cycle of the PMAQ, 60.3% belonged to the reformed UAPS, 79.3% had PEP implanted and 35.3% had a Oral Health team. Regarding the prenatal quality, 87.4% of the teams had pregnant women with seven or more prenatal consultations, 3.9% of the teams had all their pregnant women with day-care and 11.7% of the teams had all their Pregnant women accompanied by a home visit, 110 teams belonged to the reformed UAPS and 86.4% had pregnant women with seven or more prenatal visits. It is concluded that the results may induce to a certain extent the reorientation of the health care model, as well as the greater organization of the service with a view to implementing actions aimed at improving care practices.
