Resumo: The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of adding combinations of calcium anacardate (ANC) with citric acid (CA) in diets for birds between the 1st and 8th weeks of age raised on floor. A total of 960 1-day-old chicks were distributed in a completely randomized design with 8 treatments and 6 replications with 20 birds per plot selected by average weight. The treatments were: T1: feed without additive; T2: with anticoccidial; T3: 0.25% ANC + 0.25% AC; T4: 0.50% ANC + 0.25% AC; T5: 0.50% ANC + 0.50% AC; T6: 0.75% ANC + 0.25% AC; T7: 0.75% ANC + 0.50% AC; T8: 0.75% ANC + 0.75% AC. The parameters of performance, metabolizability and metabolizable energy of the ration, weight and pH of the digestive system, intestinal morphometry, bone growth and quality and serum biochemical parameters were evaluated. Salinomycin impaired bone performance and quality, however, its withdrawal did not leave a residual effect in the development and posture phases. The addition of ANC + AC reduced the concentration of uric acid in the blood, while the associations 0.50% ANC + 0.50% AC and 0.75% ANC + 0.75% AC reduced performance at the beginning of the laying cycle. The combination of 0.25% ANC + 0.25% AC can be used safely.
