Resumo: |
This paper aims to analyze the main factors impacting the level of failure and/or avoidance of students in technological courses of IFCE, Campus-Fortaleza. The methodology used was the econometric model of panel data with information on technological courses offered by the Federal Institute of Ceará, in the period 2006 to 2013. The database was extracted from the Academic Support System of Camper 23 of the Federal Institute of Ceará which has 22.000 students enrolled in different educational levels. Among other results, it was found that a 1% increase in the percentage of students with family income less than two minimum wages causes elevations of Evasion and disapproval rate of approximately 0.72%. The increase in the percentage of original public school students at 1%, decreased the failure rate at 0.07%. In a way, it can be inferred that public policies that have objective reduce failures could be directed to increase the income of the families of students and investment in public education. |
