ABNT NBR 15575:2013, better known as the Performance Standard, through establishment of requirements, criteria and evaluation methods, brought to civil construction a greater concern with the final performance of buildings. This requires restructuring of the projects' design, construction and maintenance processes. However, studies show that the incorporating and construction companies have still faced difficulties to effectively meet the standard in their housing developments, since they do not have a clear knowledge of the regulatory demands and the best way to act towards its implementation. Despite isolated initiatives, the implementation of the standard by construction companies is still challenging due to its complexity and the need for specific technical knowledge, additional efforts and costs and the absence of structured procedures to meet its requirements. Thus, this work aims to develop a method of implementation, through a literature review and an analysis of the situation of construction companies selected in view of the requirements of the Performance Standard and the challenges identified. The conduct of the dissertation steps was based on the Design Science Research method of research and resulted in the development of the implantation method as a final artifact. In this context, the research started with a literature review on the subject and continued with interviews with construction companies, as well as analyzes of the design process of the companies and selected enterprises regarding the compliance with ABNT NBR 15575:2013. Based on the results of the analyzes, the artifact of this research, the method for implementing the standard, was developed and tools integrated with it were developed. Then, the developed method was tested through an application in a housing development and evaluated by a group of professionals and specialists. Thus, this research contributes to guide construction companies in their performance, minimize current challenges and meet the requirements of ABNT NBR 15575: 2013, guaranteeing users better quality and performance of buildings.
