Resumo: |
Since the 1990s, the concept of diversity, which is identified in terms of gender, age, race, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation, has received increasing attention from organizations. In this context, sexual orientation became more discussed due also to the social political movement called LGBTQIA+ that defends diversity and seeks more representation and equal rights for homosexual people. This research aims to understand the perceptions of LGBTQIA+ people about their experiences of inclusion and organizational socialization in the work environment, using the theoretical basis of Ferdman's inclusion cores (2014) that deal with self expression and identity; norms and borders and safety and comfort and in terms of organizational socialization, a theme based on the adaptation of Santos (2018), referring to the domains: engagement with the institution; integration with people; professional domain. The research was developed through a descriptive and interpretative study with a qualitative approach, using field research as a case study strategy. For the collection of primary data, interviews were carried out through the elaboration of a semi-structured script of questions based on the theoretical model of Ferdman and Deane (2014) and Santos (2018). The research subjects are 25 homosexual employees of a supermarket company in the State of Ceará. Data processing was carried out through content analysis and with the help of the Atlas.ti software, version 23. The results indicated that the inclusion process takes place in the researched organization, with a prevailing feeling of equality with others, welcoming others, individual appreciation regardless of the characteristics, this environment being favorable to the exposition of ideas and respect being experienced and learned along the way, favoring an environment of socialization. Thus, the contributions of this study are the recommendation of a set of actions/activities for an inclusive organizational socialization process of homosexuals in the organization. these actions being the Creation of a Diversity committee, Thematic lectures on LGBTQIA+ inclusion, Workshop on inclusive communication, Equalization of access to social benefits among same-sex couples, Diversity Booklet, Badge with Social Name, Conversation Circles and Leadership Training. |
