Resumo: The present study aims to investigate the impact of entrepreneurship on economic growth, as well as their specializations by gender and motivation, the types by opportunity and necessity Data from a sample of 29 countries between the years 2014 and 2018 were used, with data on entrepreneurship taken from surveys and reports from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), with the Total Early-stage Entrepreneurial Activity (TEA) as main measure of entrepreneurship, and the other data taken from the World Development Indicators (WDI). Six econometric models were developed using GDP per capita as a dependent variable, estimated through a balanced panel and a fixed effects estimation. The results obtained suggest that countries that have a larger number of entrepreneurs present a better performance in economic growth, showing evidence that entrepreneurship corroborate the economic growth of national economies, as well as specifically corroborating female, opportunity and female entrepreneurship by opportunity.
