Resumo: |
Considering the level of updating of concepts related to the area of language teaching, we aim to outline a methodological and theoretical path for the construction of a terminological work, carrying out a survey and presenting the main concepts linked to Specialized Units of Meaning (USE) (KRIEGER, 2004) constituted by the term “Language”. The development of research and the expansion of the role of the language teacher in different social and educational contexts corroborate the emergence of new terms, as well as the variation in the use of these specific units in academic work, a gap that we intend approach, listing the most used terms and the most recurrent concepts in the works consulted in our research. To support the practical and theoretical steps, we will use the postulates of the Communicative Theory of Terminology (CABRÉ, 1999), collecting the terms in real situations of use, through the "Multilingual Corpus for teaching and translation" - COMET and the definitional base, constituted for works of theses and dissertations consulted through the access to the CAPES portal, electronically. The aforementioned theory treats technical and scientific terms as units belonging to the common linguistic system, suffering conceptual variation according to the context of use. To identify such variations, as well as to address the in vivo uses of terms, we collect the meaning units related to the term “language” together with their contexts of use, with the aim of highlighting specific uses and redefining our definitional choices. |
