Resumo: The present research work had as a main purpose to elaborate a sociological and anthropological, scientific and artistic interpretation of the social phenomenon observed in the cultural and social interaction in the village of Caiçara de Baixo, driven by issues like: migratory flow, tourism, change of traditional socialization and discussion about the post-modernity development in this social framework that was used to be a sociological background. The international tourism has soared in the last decades and places with traditional aspect (fishing and handcrafted villages) as Jericoacoara of the seventies and eighties, nowadays are national and international touring route, where local and federal public policies look forward to urban and legal structuration, in order to deal with the tourism business and institutionalizationof National Parks and the incentive to private projects of hotel business and gastronomy. However, there are others social phenomena that are connected to this tourism reality which I intend to analyze and to interpretin the present study. I speak here about the lifestyles that go through this tourism islands and about the cultural contact between old local population and the travelers that become residents, transforming the village ethosas much as the habitus of people that already lived there and the people that came after. From this arises the discussion about tradition, modernity and translation, or cultural redefinition by the agents and the agents. The village of Caiçara de Baixo is a community nearby Jericoacoara that was populated for traveler artisans who work selling handicraft to the tourists of the region.
