Resumo: Road conditions particularly affect the operating costs of vehicles and, consequently, affect road users. When it comes to user costs, the cost related to fuel consumption represents more than 50% of the total operating cost of the vehicle, and in some cases, road quality can contribute to up to 15% of a vehicle's fuel consumption. Therefore, the objective of the research is to analyze the influence of traffic, speed and quality of selected sections of roads on fuel consumption, within the urban perimeter of Goiânia-GO. The research evaluated these points through a case study using data collected in urban areas with similar characteristics, but with different pavement qualities. Three sections of urban roads with uninterrupted flow were selected, each with low, medium and high quality, according to the value of the International Roughness Index (IRI) calculated by the Carbin application. These stretches belong to two roads in Goiânia: Av. Marginal Botafogo and Av. North Perimeter. With the help of a 2018 Ford Ka Hatch test vehicle and the OBD II scanner, it was possible to build fuel consumption scenarios when there is high volume of traffic and low volume of traffic and to build scenarios in which the three lanes were driven at a speed low (30 km/h – 40 km/h), medium (50 km/h –60 km/h) and high (70 km/h – 80 km/h). With all the collections and calculations made, it was concluded that fuel consumption is higher on sections with a high volume of traffic, on sections traveled at low speed and on sections with high IRI values. On Av. Marginal Botafogo, for example, the average consumption per 100 m went from 19.42 ml in high traffic volume to 7.30 ml in low traffic volume and from 6.00 ml in high speed to 9.50 ml at low speed. Furthermore, the lowest fuel consumption results were collected in the section with the lowest IRI value.
