The Sociology presence in the curricular matrices of Brazilian high schools, since the enactment of Law No. 11,684 of 2008, has broadened the debate on methodologies, content, didactic material, among other issues that involve the conditions that the discipline is offered in educational establishments. As much as it appears substantially in Basic Education, it is at the university that new theoretical constructs are thought out and new pedagogical practices are planned to increase teaching and learning. Based on this collective construction, build on respect and openness to school-university dialogue, that the aforementioned research, the result of the Professional Master's Degree in Sociology in the National Network, aimed to evaluate the students’ perceptions on Sociology teaching at the school units in the Maciço de Baturité region - CE, in view of the presence of the University of International Integration Lusofonia Afro-Brasileira and the offer of a degree course in Sociology at that institution. Therefore, according to the methodological criteria, our research is of an explanatory nature of the mixed type (SAMPIERI, 2010). The path taken in the search for data and information, consisted of bibliographical, documentary research and application of online questionnaires elaborated on Google Forms. The instrument was applied to students regularly enrolled in the 3rd grade of high school and was attended by 1097 of them. It was possible to verify that the Maciço de Baturité emerges as a region with the potential to advance in the production and circulation of sociological knowledge in both Basic Education and Higher Education. However, despite the presence of the university and the actions it carries out in the scope of teaching, research and extension, we saw that Sociology in High School needs to advance in the field of internship, in the area of teachers continuing education, among other aspects, so that it fulfills its educational potentials relevant to the students human and integral formation |
