Resumo: This study aims to analyze the conditions under which Brazilian workers have been identified as overeducated in their first jobs, as well as the probability of remaining with this status throughout the analysis period, 2006-2015. In addition, it seeks to investigate the differentials of effects among those workers who were initially overeducated but were first employed in companies with differentiated productive capacity. This study is expected to bring innovative results to the literature. Information from the Annual Social Information Report (RAIS), the 2002 Brazilian Classification of Occupations (CBO), and the 2013 Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (SEBRAE) fed a recursive probit bivariate model that allowed the empirical conduct of the study. The results show that the status of overeducation in the first job increases by 26.6%the probability of the worker repeating the same educational incompatibility in the current job, in 2015. Moreover, workers considered overeducated accelerate their transitions to jobs with appropriate educational status when they take their first job in large companies.
