Resumo: |
This work is regarding the Universitarian Hospital Walter Cantidio of the Federal University in the States of Ceará, Brazil. Initially, the topics discussed are the hospital’s historical and conceptual aspects. Hospitals are complex facilities that exist to develop activities with the objective to provide a cure and rehabilitation to the human being. Next, the influences of new technologies, hospital typology, are presented, including the schooling hospital. A retrospective is made of the health service in the State of Ceara, from the colonial period, including the evolution according to the public sanitary infra-structure established during each time period in Brazil. Fortaleza is focused as a setting of the creation of the Medical School of Ceara at the end of the forties decade. As the initial event of the revolution of the state health. With the creation of the University of Ceara, during the fifties, later denominated as Federal University of Ceara, incorporating a Medical School, it consolidated a specialized facility in the field of health, the Porangabucu Campus. In this area was established, initially as Clinical Hospital, the Universitarian Hospital Walter Cantidio (HUWC), one of the 45 university hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC). This work converges to the diagnostic analysis of the current situation of the university hospital. The in loco research methodology was adopted with the evaluation of all the units comprising the hospital, within the physical and functional aspects. Interviews were also performed with the directors for the better understanding of the problems related to the teaching activities, research, and the health assistance to the population. The legislation from the Ministry of Health – RDC N 50/ANVISA – turned out to be and important instrument towards the elaboration of the diagnostic analysis. |
