Resumo: |
The research presented proposed to analyze the level of sustainability of the aquaculture production chain in the municipality of Santo Inácio do Piauí based on the sustainable triple: environmental, economic and social. The municipality analyzed was Santo Inácio do Piauí, located in the semi-arid region, a territory known as Vale do Canindé and which has psychoculture as one of its main activities. The research took place in 2023, where semi structured interviews were carried out with producers in the municipality, totaling four farms in the region. The methodology used to reach the level of sustainability of the activity were: methodology by Vicenti (2018, 2021) and Nascimento (2007) for environmental and social analysis; Bellú (2013) and Fontenele (2023) effects method for economic analysis. Twenty (20) indicators were analyzed. To weight sustainability scores, the methodology of Matias (2012) and Turner (2007) was used. The sub-index of environmental sustainability of the psychculture activity on the farms in Santo Inácio do Piauí, after analyzing the eight proposed indicators, was considered average (ranging from 3.5 to 3.75). In relation to the eight social indicators that make up the sub-index, it was considered medium (range from 2.5 to 2.75). Regarding the four variables that make up the economic sustainability sub-index: contribution to municipal GDP, income distribution, development of the local economy and contribution to public finances, the score calculated on farms was low (ranging from 2 to 2.5). The results after calculation to find the general sustainability score of each farm indicated that the level of sustainability of the activity is moderate. |
