The present work is an attempt to present a new teaching methodology, showing how to present part of the content of Analytical Geometry for the 3rd year classes of High School. And this using a world-renowned technological tool which is one of the satellite positional navigation systems, the GPS system. At first, we explain the motivation for choosing this subject and try to give its definition, history and functioning. Then we talk about the traditional methods of exposing the content of Analytical Geometry and finally we talk about the methodology that is the product of this dissertation. The research work was hard, especially when it came to exposing the part that deals with how Einstein's relativity becomes an indispensable part of the functioning of the GPS tool. As the subject addresses the understanding of subjects that are beyond the scope of understanding of a high school class, it was decided to simplify the content and not go into complex parts of the subject. |
