Resumo: Increasingly, the electricity sector has played important economic and social role on the national scene. Driven by multiple stresses, especially coming from the regulator, ANEEL, and the association of distributors, ABRADEE, the electricity distribution companies have modernized their management systems, with consequences for both the public and external to internal. In this context, corporate social responsibility becomes a competitive advantage for its potential power to affect a wide range of stakeholders, including employees, in terms of their engagement. This research seeks to investigate the relationship between social responsibility and organizational commitment within a utility company, Eletrobras Distribuição Piauí. About the topic of corporate social responsibility as a parameter, we use the values issues, Transparency and Governance, and Internal Public Ethos Indicators (2012). About the issue of organizational commitment use the dimensions affective, instrumental and normative Meyer and Allen (1991). This is a descriptive, quantitative, conducted by a survey. The field data will be collected through structured questionnaires, applied to a group of managers and employees. Data analysis will be performed from descriptive statistics and also by categorization and content analysis. The survey results seek initially to identify the profile of the respondent, through the position, length of experience, gender, age, marital status and education. Second, identify and analyze the current status of social responsibility in the company in focus. Thirdly, analyze the indicators of affective organizational commitment, instrumental and normative. Finally, analyze the correlations between indicators of corporate social responsibility, and indicators of organizational commitment.
