Resumo: This research analyzes the architecture and urbanism project of the Pici Campus of the Federal University of Ceará aware of the presence of the concepts of modulation, flexibility and architectural systems. These concepts have been clarified for theoretical background, as well as highlighting them in some works by university institutions such as the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, the Free University of Berlin and the set of modular educational buildings at the Pampulha Campus at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). Considering the national context of the 1960s, the expansion and restructuring of the Brazilian college education known as University Reform, this work addresses the diffusion of the university campus model in Brazil interrelating with the instructions of the Atcon Manual. The campus spatial configuration is then investigated through primary (original drawings, photographs, reports) and secondary sources identifying campus morphological elements, general zoning characteristics, block layout, building integration with walkways, and standardization of typologies. The work contributes to the documentation of Pici Campus, historically contextualizing its creation, seeking the conceptual basis of the projection process, examining its materiality built in order to understand the proposed design and how it was actually executed.
