Resumo: |
In the eighteenth century, the economy of the lower Jaguaribe region, with Aracati at its center, was marked by the production of jerky, which centralized in this region a constant flow of goods, ideas and people. The present work seeks to understand the insertion and experience of enslaved workers in this social dynamic. In this sense, based on social history, we discuss labor relations, the possibilities of resistance, the construction of spaces of autonomy, the forging of sociabilities and solidarities, as well as the negotiation between slaves and masters, which demonstrates powerful dimensions of the action of these social actors. Therefore, our work seeks to build an analysis that thinks about the trajectories of enslaved subjects from a multifaceted perspective of their actions, in an attempt to understand how these workers fought, from the existing and forged possibilities, for ways of existing. |
