The Campus of the Federal University of Alagoas is not configured with an island, since the internal problems related to security are a reflection of an unequal society that every Day registers more alarming rates of violence. Within the A. C. Simões Campus, around 30 thousand people circulate daily, and it is located in one of the most violent neighborhoods in the city of Maceió. The effectiveness of security policies not only within public educational institutions, but also the public security system is constantly being challenged by society, which increasingly seeks mechanisms to maintain a level of security acceptable for the development of their everyday activities. It is up to the institutions to protect and guard both their assets and the people that circulate around them, for it is necessary to develop na efficient policy capable of provoking a sense of security in their users.In UFAL there is still no institutional security policy, so this work has as general objective the proposition of actions capable of linking the constitutional principle of efficiency in the normatization of the security policy of the Federal University of Alagoas, A. Simões Campus. The dissertation is fundamentally based on a theoretical, conceptual and methodological approach. In order to carry out this research, scientific papers, books, master's theses and doctoral theses were analyzed, both in the national and international literature. For that, a research was carried out with the descriptive method and qualitative approach, through documentary means with the analysis of internal documents of the institution and collection of records of occurrences to detect the current stage of the institutional security policy and how the actions take place related to safety on Campus. Semi structured interviews were carried out with the central management of the university and with GSI's servers, so that through the crossing of the variables, the gaps and intervention possibilities were detected. Finally, a plan of actions was proposed that could provide management guidelines for the elaboration and implementation of an institutional security policy in UFAL, so that through the adoption and normalization of the policy, the UFAL.
