Resumo: | This study consists of an ethnography that aims to broaden the Pentecostal understanding regarding the tensions established between art and religion through the ministry of theater, art and life. The fieldwork was carried out during 2018 and 2019, where I was present within the activities of the Headquarters of the Assemblies of God of Alagoas accompanying worship, essays and activities related to the youth of the church, and the writing of the dissertation was carried out during the year 2019 and beginning 2020. The master’s dissertation aims to understand how young people from the Assembly of God of Farol or Headquarters of Assemblies of God in Alagoas negotiate the existing tensions between art and religion through the existence of the art and life ministry. Therefore, an investigation is carried out that follows winding paths, in order to use and transpose important theories of social sciences, in order to enable a new “way of seeing” the studied field. Theories of life trajectories are used to guide the epistemological path, because it is through the lives of some members of the art and life ministry that can be understood how the “spheres” theory, which separates art and religion, is overcomed and lived by the interlocutors. Subsequently, four pillars are considered that support the experiences of the interlocutors in front of the church: first, the theological aspects regarding the construction of the Pentecostal identity; second, the negotiations between the "youngs" and "elders", marking generational conflicts; Third, the concept of habitus is important for us to understand how life trajectories contribute to the construction of tensions around art and religion on the part of interlocutors and the “elders”; at last, the contributions that the concept of ethos that reveal the construction of a pentecostal identity that differs from what is called the neopentecostalization of the Assembly of God, causing the previous three pillars to reorganize themselves as the Assembly of God identity is sought and recovered. Finally, notions of ritual are used, in favor of a better understanding of how sociability is renegotiated and stabilized within the religious environment through the plays of the ministry art and life. |
