Resumo: | This dissertation aimed to investigate the creation and performance of the Special Advisory on Security and Information - AESI instituted at the Federal University of Alagoas - UFAL on December 14, 1971, in the rectorate of Professor Nabuco Lopes Tavares da Costa Santos. Its temporal cutout includes the period between 1971 and 1974, years of production of the documentation found. Theoretical-methodological approach was adopted as a qualitative option for the research, through literature review and critical analysis of sources; Bardin's Content Analysis (2011) was used for data analysis, which allowed, based on the theoretical framework and the corpus, the definition of the analytical category Control (FOUCAULT, 1994). The documental analysis occurred in printed material from AESI found fortuitously in the archives of UFAL in the year 2016 at the time of the reorganization of the Academic Archives. Having as theoretical reference Gramsci (1966), Foucault (1994), Priori et. al. (2012) and Motta (2014), the results showed that the action of the Advisory Board sought to guide the dean and directors of Colleges, both in decision making and in the control and maintenance of the dictatorial system in an environment conducive to the dissemination of ideas contrary to the government, ideas considered by the government as subversive. The argument of maintaining order, discipline and public peace was based on authority and control over the academic community, which based on arguments of morality and good customs sought domination and permanence in power. The action of members of the academic community of UFAL in response to requests from AESI followed confidential guidelines; by serving the interests of the Civil-Military Dictatorship, they converged to repress ideas contrary to the government, through secret mechanisms of control within the university. |
