The occupation of the Reginaldo Valley region by the urban area of the Maceio city has brought some problems relating to the urban drainage. In all of this basin, the development of the drainage system occurred inappropriately, as well as urban development that happens in most of the Brazil capitals. The low regions of the basin, naturally flooded were occupied and waterproofed. The surplus of flow is the frequent cause of inconvenience, flooding a large zone of the basin. Together with the failures of the draining system, of the qualitative and quantitative point of view, occurs the degradation of the urban bodies of water by the launching of sewer and garbage. Despite these findings, is few what it knows about the behavior of the Maceio urban basins, and nor the effects of the urbanization over the occurrence process of floods in these basins. Therefore, is extremely necessary a detailed study in order to understand its operation, aiming the good planning of the actions in the basin, which include both technical aspects related to the drainage system as well as problems related to the urbanism. It is understood that most of problems encountered is resulting of an almost total absence of urban development planning, coupled to the low rate of investment in infrastructure in these basins. The objective of the present work is to evaluate the impact of the implementation of the Guidelines of the Master Plan of the Maceió city in the Basin of the Reginaldo brook, Together with the urbanization code, in respect to the use and occupation of the ground of Basin of the Reginaldo brook in Maceió-AL, about the superficial draining. This work is inserted in the context of a larger project, entitled “Definition of criteria for elaboration of integrated ambient management of urban basins. Study of case: Basin of the river Reginaldo”, Study of case: Basin of the river Reginaldo”, with financing of the CNPq through the Proclamation MCT/CNPq/CT- HIDRO In the 14/2005 (Casadinho), developed in partnership between UFAL, UFMG and EESC/USP.
