This is a study on the Worker's Party (PT). We intended to research the first years of the party in the Alagoas Country, the building of the organization and the firsts political struggles during the transition from the dictatorship to the period known as new republic. Insofar, we interviewed activists that were part of the PT on it's beginning, so as a leadership of another organization who saw on the emergence of the PT on the state the possibility of a new political actor participating on the scenes of struggle. We also took the newspapers of the time and its covering of the political moment of the time, even the street mobilizations, like the campaign of the Diretas Já!, as the electoral races, on that higlighting the elections of 1982, on which the PT were absent in Alagoas, and the presidencial elections of 1989, on which the same occupied the center of the political scene with the candidature of Lula fighting the future elected president, Fernando Collor de Mello. We intended with that research to identify who was those social agents who became ahead of the building of the PT in Alagoas and how the Party could developed on that time, examining its strategies, organizational foundations and political movements.
