Resumo: The growing population, coupled with the exponential increase in energy consumption in the world, has brought with it serious problems and severe environmental damage. Linked to this dramatic scenario, the incorrect disposal of household liquid waste, such as waste oils, has been intensifying anthropogenic aggression to the environment. From this perspective, this work aims to carry out the economic evaluation of the production of a biofuel that has been promising, namely biodiesel. The main raw material to obtain this biofuel was the residual oil, making the project more attractive because it does not need non-renewable sources for its production, like oil, besides conserving the environment, considering its contribution to the non-discarding of waste oils in inappropriate places. The site evaluated was the municipality of Maceió, located in the state of Alagoas, whose monthly oil availability was 28,640.98 L, and the economic evaluation resulted in a Discounted Payback of 4.21 years, Net Present Value of R $ 17,333, 83, Internal Rate of Return of 10.75% and Profitability Index of 1.16 plus a favorable Sensitivity Analysis for four parameters, which were: price of purchased oil, price of biodiesel sold, reaction efficiency and quantity of methanol used
