Resumo: | Salbutamol (SAL) is an agonist of the beta type 2 receptor (β2-agonist) with therapeutic characteristics, especially respiratory diseases. However, you can also influence other physiological and metabolic functions, including promoting liver and muscle glycogenolysis. It has been shown that the administration of SALT (inhaled and/or oral), at different doses, it promotes an improvement in metabolism and performance of athletes. It is known that metabolic alterations may reflect in athletic performance, as in hyperammonemia. Greater deamination of AMP and / or catabolism of amino acids during exercise can cause a higher concentration of ammonia in the blood, especially if the activity is carried out in the heat, leading to losses in the performance of athletes. SALT appears to reduce hyperammonemia, and little is known about its effects on the metabolism of ammonia, especially during exercise in the heat. The objective of this study was a review of the pharmacological aspects of the SAL, beyond its use and influence in the perspective of athletic performance and exerciseinduced hyperammonemia. |
