This research aims to study the body playing in the teaching practice. The research is constructed by taking the theoretical studies of Janet Moyles (2002, 2006) about the games, and the writings of Michel Foucault (1979, 2007) on the relations of power, discipline and docilization of bodies. The term body playing used in this study was adapted by the author from Moyles (2002) studies on physical play. The questions guiding this research are defined as: How is teaching performance of teachers in relation to the reproduction of the body? What are the theoretical assumptions underlying the work of early childhood educator? How to organize educational work of teachers in the body play in children's education? From these questions arise following objectives: to determine the theoretical assumptions underlying the pedagogical practice play in kindergarten; to describe the role of school teacher in teaching about the body; and analyzing the pedagogical practice of body playing in kindergarten. The study is organized into four chapters. Chapter one relates to the work, the body and education and the consequences generated by the understanding of children, childhood and early childhood education in modernity. In the second chapter discusses the body playing in early childhood education, child's body and educational opportunities. The third chapter describes the methodology of this study, chapter four brings the data and discussion and analysis. The investigation was carried out in the city of Ponta Grossa - PR, in three centers Municipal Kindergarten, where data were obtained from observations, questionnaires and interviews with the participation of twenty educators working in groups of Garden Nursery I and II and Kindergarten I and II. The survey was carried out in the first half of 2010. This study is characterized as descriptive and interpretive. The data were systematized according to Laurence Bardin (1977) content analysis, and analyzed on the basis of triangulation of data (TRIVIÑOS, 2008). According to the data obtained and analyzed, we believe that playing takes place in the educational practice of early childhood education in a context of free activity and weak theoretical base in the practice of educators, which makes it difficult to link the act of playing with the other day activities. Playing is verified in the practice of educators as fragmented actions that do not favor the exploration of body and movement. |
