In this essay, the aim is investigate the construction of female characters by Ana Maria Machado (1942 -) in literary texts to differentiated readers. So, we analysed nine books of children literature, adolescents and adults: Bem do seu tamanho (1980), Bisa Bia, Bisa Bel (1982), Menina bonita do laço de fita (1984), Isso ninguém me tira (1994), Tudo ao mesmo tempo agora (1997), Amigo é comigo (1999), Alice e Ulisses (1983), Tropical sol da liberdade (1988) e Audácia dessa mulher (1999). We verified aspects of female characters construction through structural elements and formal-thematic of the texts as well as the emancipatory character of writer's literary production seeing that the text's structure read have facilitated the interaction between text and reader. Then, we considered how the readers are invited to experiment (practice) and discuss valuables established by society that they're living now and clarify how the reading of these narratives in-spire reader's formation, because they create spaces and blanks that can be filled with experience of each person. According to the analysis realized we understood the relevant presence of female figure in the ficcional world by Ana Maria Machado seeing that the children identify themselves in the adolescents and adults characters. Before undertaken studies, we observed the reader doesn't out unharmed because his expectation horizon when uncorporate himself to horizon offered by masterpieces, it propitiates a new knowledge promoting the extension of his initial expectation horizon. Therefore, this research, qualitative-interpretative and bibliographic character, it'll also contribute to extension of the literature studies of this nature.
