Resumo: The present study was developed with the general objective to examine the initial training of bachelors in physical education from a public institutions upper education of the state of Parana and its relationship to professional practice in different fields of intervention. Characterized as a case study. To select the participating institution, we have made a cut-out intentional delimiting as object of research an public institutions upper education of the state of Parana, by the fact that the researcher have carried out the initial training at this institution, by encouraging the desire to know how this has been developing the course of bachelor in physical education, since it operates in this field. Another reason, and that the institution and the course selected are traditional in the state of Parana, a course created in 1972 and recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture since 1976. Participated of the paper research, five teachers and 25 graduates of the physical education course in bachelor. As a data source, we look at the pedagogic project of course researched, as well as data were collected by means of semi-structured interviews with teachers and applied a questionnaire with the graduated. For the treatment of data, as of the documents (pedagogical project) as of transcribed interviews and questionnaires, we have made use of the content analysis technique proposed by Bardin (1977), as well as descriptive statistics simple. The results of the research indicated that teachers and graduated realize that the field of action in the context of baccalaureate requires qualified professionals, it is necessary, for both, a review of teaching project, in an attempt to seek proper training and that is in accordance with the interventionist spaces. However, on the contribution of initial training for professional practice in physical education, in the opinion of the graduates stand out negatives, highlighting lack of organization, planning, preparation, updating and interest on the part of teachers. Although most graduates are happy in relation to areas of intervention, showing satisfaction with the activities they perform and the gym is the place that housed most of the graduates of HEIs surveyed. We have pointed out in this study the need for restructuring of initial training in physical education for the course of bachelor in physical education researched, addressing the disciplines unnecessary to promote a consistent training with the fields of specific intervention.
