Resumo: | In this work open photoacoustic cell technique was used to determine the thermal diffusivity of odontological materials. Cement samples called as CER (fast hardening cement) were analyzed as a function of emulsion concentration and particles sizes. For comparison, measurements were also performed both in MTA and in common cement. Complementary measurements of specific heat, via thermal relaxation calorimetry, and mass density through Arquimedes principle were also performed. The results showed that the thermal diffusivity of the samples increased with the emulsion concentration and particles sizes variation, what may be associated with the increase of the sample's porosity. The use of the open photoacoustic cell was shown once again efficient for the quantitative determination of the thermal properties of porous materials, such as the cement used in the odontological area. |
