Resumo: Background: The effect of the homeopathic nucleus HomeoAqua Mega-3 ® in fatty acids compounds in the muscle tissues and the performance of the Nile tilapia (O. niloticus) is evaluated. Methods: A control diet (T1) with 40 mL of a hydro-alcohol solution (alcohol 30º GL) for each kg of feed and another diet (T2) with 40 mL/kg of the Homeopathic Nucleus were analyzed in sex-reversed juvenile male Nile tilapia, mean initial weight 89.54g (± 7.97) and 89.74g (± 8.83) and initial total mean length 16.93 cm (± 0.56) and 16.85 cm (± 0.56), respectively for T1 and T2. Two hundred fish were distributed into 10 water cisterns, with 20 specimens in each 600L-cistern, and kept for 63 days. Monitoring of the water's physical and chemical parameters was undertaken; the centesimal composition and the composition of the muscle tissue's fatty acids were determined; fish performance was evaluated. Results: No statistically significant difference (p>0.05) was reported between treatments with regard to the water's physical and chemical parameters, humidity, ashes, proteins and mean rates of total weight and length in the final period of the assay. Total lipids, the compositions of saturated fatty acids and ratio n-6/n-3 of the Nile tilapia's muscular tissue in treatment with the homeopathic nucleus HomeoAqua Mega-3® had a greater decrease rate when compared to that of control group at 63 days of the experiment, respectively with statistical difference of 6% (pmenor0.06), 5% (pmenor0.05) and 5% (pmenor0.05). Conclusion: Juveniles of Nile tilapia supplied with homeopathic HomeoAqua Mega-3 ® in the diet had a decrease in total lipid rates, mainly saturated fatty acids, at a ratio of n-6/n-3 with regard to control group, without any modification in the specimens' performance during the experimental period.
