The paper aims to study the construction of space in the novel All the Names (1997), by José Saramago. The main spaces of this work are the Geral Conservatory, the General Cemetery; School and City are secondary spaces that will be investigated with all the characters that evolve in order to provide an understanding of the influence they exert on the personage and that personage exert on this space, beyond the strong influence caused the novel. The theorist basis for the foundation of our study prioritizes authors who discuss the theory of space in literature. Some authors who attend the research are: Dimas, Lins Borges Filho, Bal, Bachelard, Hugh Lacey, and others. In All Names there are primary and secondary spaces, in which the protagonist of the novel acts and moves. These spaces (real, imagined and imaginary) have contiguity and immensity reaffirming the labyrinth and symbolic aspects present in this work. This study aims to contribute to the critical studies about the work of José Saramago.
